Play on your phone without a download: browser or app (PWA)

"Free download", "download for Windows", "Android version": that is how many people search for an old tower jumping game. With Skyhop you do not need to download anything, because the game runs in your browser. If you would rather have an icon on your desktop or phone, you can install it like an app in a few seconds. Do you need to download Skyhop

No, Skyhop does not need a download: open skyhop.pl/en/ in your browser and play right away, on a phone or a computer. Installing is an extra that gives you an icon, full screen and offline play.

Skyhop is a web app, also called a PWA. The same game runs in a browser tab and after installing, with the same save and the same modes. You do not need a separate installer or a "download" file that has to be updated. Every launch with a connection fetches the newest version on its own.

Playing in the browser: when that is enough

A browser tab is enough when you play now and then, on someone else's or a school computer, or just want to try it. You start in a few seconds, and guest progress saves in the site data on that device.

On a school computer it is often the only option, because installing programs is blocked. Skyhop works fine in Chrome, Edge or Firefox there, and you can play with friends in a room with a code. More on that in the guide browser games for a school break.

Installing on Windows (Chrome and Edge)

On Windows you install Skyhop from Chrome or Edge: with the Install as an app button on the home page or the install icon in the address bar. The game gets its own window without an address bar and a shortcut in the Start menu.

1. Open skyhop.pl/en/ in Chrome or Edge.
2. At the bottom of the home page, click Install as an app. The button appears when the browser allows installing.
3. If there is no button, click the install icon on the right side of the address bar, or open the browser menu (three dots) and choose the option to install the app. Its name depends on your browser version.
4. Confirm in the system dialog. Skyhop opens in its own window.

It works the same way on macOS, Linux and Chromebook. On a computer you play with the arrow keys and Space, and holding Space jumps on its own.

Installing on Android

On Android you play in Chrome, and the game offers to add an icon to your screen. Once installed, Skyhop opens full screen in portrait and works offline too.

1. Go to skyhop.pl/en/ and start the game.
2. When the browser allows it, a card with an install button appears in the game. Tap it and confirm.
3. If there is no card, open the Chrome menu (three dots) and choose add to home screen or install app.

On a phone you hold your finger on the screen and the hero jumps on its own. Control modes and their sensitivity are covered in mobile controls: tilt or swipe.

iPhone and iPad

On iPhone and iPad you install Skyhop from Safari: Share, then Add to Home Screen, then Add. The icon opens the game full screen, like a regular app.

The game shows these steps itself after a moment. If you are using a browser built into a messaging app, open the link in Safari, because only Safari offers Add to Home Screen. You can dismiss the hint with the cross and the game will remember it.

What installing gives you and what it does not change

Installing adds convenience: an icon, full screen and offline play after the first launch. It does not change the gameplay, your save or your scores.

A word of warning about files from unknown sites

Do not download .exe or .apk files from unknown sites that promise an "old game, free download". Such files may contain malware, and Skyhop does not need any of them.

The official site of the game is skyhop.pl, in English skyhop.pl/en/. Installing it as an app happens from that site, through the browser or system dialog, with no separate file.

How to uninstall

Uninstalling takes a moment and needs no extra program: on Windows from the game window menu or in system Settings, on a phone by long-pressing the icon. Guest progress lives in the skyhop.pl site data, so do not choose to delete data if you want to keep it.

The safest move is to create an account in your Profile before you uninstall or switch devices. After signing in with the same email, your progress comes back on any phone or computer.
